Fangjian Fu is an Associate Professor of Finance at Singapore Management University’s Lee Kong Chian School of Business. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Peking University (Beijing, China) in 1997, his Master’s degree in Finance from National University of Singapore (Singapore) in 2001 and his Ph.D. degree in Finance from the University of Rochester (New York, USA) in 2007.
Professor Fu has broad research interests in empirical asset pricing and corporate finance. His recent research focuses on cross-sectional stock returns, idiosyncratic volatility, corporate investment, capital structure, equity offerings, and mergers and acquisitions. He has published papers in the Journal of Financial Economics, Management Science, Financial Management, Journal of Banking and Finance, and presented his research at the American Finance Association (AFA), Western Finance Association (WFA), European Finance Association (EFA), SFS Finance Cavalcade, Financial Intermediation Research Society (FIRS), China International Conference in Finance (CICF), and Financial Management Association (FMA) meetings, among others. His research works have won several best paper awards at conferences. Professor Fu teaches corporate finance at both the undergraduate, MBA, and PhD levels at Singapore Management University. |
