About Brian


T. Brian Mooney is an Associate Professor of Philosophy in the School of Social Sciences at Singapore Management University. Originally from the North of Ireland, he completed his PhD in 1993 on the “Philosophy of Love and Friendship” and since then has taught at a number of institutions including University of Ghana, Melbourne University, Deakin University, Swinburne University, Edith Cowan University and the University of Notre Dame Australia. His major research interests are in Moral Philosophy, Political Philosophy and Ancient Philosophy.

Brian is also a musician. He plays guitar, fiddle, concertina, banjo, mandolin, harmonica and tin whistle at various levels of competence. He has toured widely playing concerts in Europe, America, Australia and Asia. He has represented Ireland as a musician at several international festivals.

Another passion is travel and Brian has back-packed through most of the world. His next big trip in 2011 is through Canada to Alaska.
